It is not easy dealing with grief, making funeral arrangements and starting the administrative duties of an executor all at the same time. Therefore many people choose to work with a solicitor who assists them with Estate Administration Services and executing the Will of the deceased person.
If you are the executor of someone’s Will or if you have been named administrator, your task is to act according to the Will. You may need a legal document, known as a Grant of Probate or a Grant of Letters of Administration, which gives you the authority to administer the estate.
Estate administration involves, dealing with inheritance tax, distributing assets to the beneficiaries and making sure all legal and financial affairs of the deceased are in order. This process can be complicated and time consuming. There is no room for errors as mistakes can lead to personal liability. Our solicitors are here to make things as simple as possible for you during this very difficult time.

I searched various solicitors around to assist me with my uncle’s estate admin and I must say it was a daunting task till I found my law matters. They were very professional and explained the process step by step. I am glad I wen ahead with them
I recently engaged Fentiman’s Solicitors (now My Law Matters) to sell 2 properties and the purchase of another property. 2 of the properties involved a lease element which does complicate the matter of selling. At the time the reduced rates of SDLT was also in force. It was clear that they were very busy but the people on the other end of the phone were always patient and understanding no matter what issues I raised, which was quite a few.
My main contact was Sam Mills an extremely courteous and very pleasant ‘chap’ with a nice sense of humour but very professional. He always had time for a little chat, and reassured me whenever I raised concerns. He always got back to me via a phone call or email. Apologising if he couldn’t get back to me straight away which I wouldn’t expect knowing how busy he was. Everything could be done using a phone or computer. A basic knowledge how to send an attachment/scan documents really helped as it meant correspondence could sent and received immediately. In fact I never had to meet Sam. Overall, I would certainly engage with My Law Matters in the future.
